《鄉(xiāng)村牧師日記》（以下簡(jiǎn)稱《日記》）是布列松的第三部作品，改編自喬治·貝爾納諾斯的同名小說(shuō)?！度沼洝吠ㄟ^(guò)一系列事件對(duì)青年牧師的角色進(jìn)行塑造，片中多處展開(kāi)對(duì)宗教、上帝及信仰等議題的討論，使整部影片充斥著超驗(yàn)主義色彩。 影片展現(xiàn)了布列松簡(jiǎn)約而純粹的美學(xué)風(fēng)格，即通過(guò)非職業(yè)演員的使用，旁白與鏡頭語(yǔ)言的設(shè)計(jì)等方式，來(lái)維持影片與觀者之間的距離感，從而直接作用于觀者的精神世界。
